Azure Service Fabric Boot Camp
Azure Service Fabric (or just the Service Fabric) represents nothing less than the next evolutionary breakthrough in modern software development. This is the same technology upon which Microsoft has built and refined significant pieces of its Azure cloud offering. You can now leverage the Service Fabric in the cloud or on-premises to develop resilient, highly scalable, modern microservice-based applications in step with future industry direction. For developers, Service Fabric supports all the technologies you need build robust world-class systems including ASP.NET Web API, Remoting services and ASP.NET Core. It also provides new models for transactional, distributed state storage, as well as, built in support for the Actor Model, the future of programming.
The workshop divides the content into three sessions, each 2 days in length. While the first session can stand alone, subsequent sessions build upon the previous. Attendees will find the demos useful not only in the training course but after it. Target Audience Any .NET developer or architect would benefit greatly from the Learning Azure Service Fabric. Familiarity with C# 4.6 and system programming is recommended.
This lab-style workshop it will introduce you to the:
- Essential elements of the Service Fabric platform;
- How to program each aspect of the Service Fabric and
- Gain insights into key design decisions, best practices, pitfalls, techniques and breakthroughs.
The workshop series concludes with a daylong workshop where you will:
- Build a reference architecture in the Service Fabric using best practice patterns.

Michael ‘Monty’ Montgomery is an accomplished software architect, expert developer and seasoned trainer with a roll up your sleeves mentality. Monty’s specialty is modern microservice architecture using .NET distributed technologies and has successfully delivered dozens of systems using his original techniques. Monty has trained and mentored many around the world on architecture and technology th helping them to bring innovative distributed systems to market. Monty co-authored the 4 edition of Programming WCF Services (O’Reilly 2015) with Juval Löwy and has published many articles on architecture always sharing his unique ‘From the Field’ perspective. His latest article, ‘Escaping Appland’ has received international attention for its insightful contrarian point of view. Monty speaks regularly at .NET and industry related events around the world.
